DIRECTIONS ON HOW TO LOG IN TO THE LIBRARY DATABASES FROM OFF CAMPUS
Students
- Your User Name is the same as your Farmingdale User Name (used for Blackboard and for your Farmingdale Email account). This is usually usually the first four letters of your last name, followed by your first and middle initials. (To avoid duplication, some people have numbers attached to their logon IDs.)
- Example: smitrx (Robert X. Smith)
- If you do not know your User Name, you can:
- Look at the top of your class printout mailed to you by the Registrar's Office.
- Call or email the Library Reference Desk at (631) 420-2184, or email reference@farmingdale.edu (include your full name in the email).
- Email the Help Desk at helpdesk@farmingdale.edu (include your full name in the email).
- Your default password is your birthday followed by the last four digits of your social security number, in the format below:
- If you have changed your password for logging into your Farmingdale email account, use that new password for the Library databases also.
- If you do not know your password, contact the Help Desk at helpdesk@farmingdale.edu (include your full name in the email) or call (631) 420-2754.
Faculty & Staff
- Your User Name is the same as your Farmingdale Intranet/VMS Account. This is usually the first six letters of your last name, followed by your first and middle initials.
- Example: farminjs (Jane S. Farmingdale)
- Your password is the same as your Farmingdale Email password (either VMS or Outlook).
